The initial months of second year at graduate school was quite challenging. We were told to abruptly terminate our practicum due to COVID-19 and all the classes were converted to virtual. The initial weeks of pandemic were the most difficult. However, slowly things started falling back in place and I eventually received a job offer at VDH in the COVID data team. I also got an opportunity to volunteer at Health Hub through service learning and learned about how health disparities were being addressed. Through this experience, I also got a chance to partner with my colleagues. We made a great team together and were able to win the best presentation.
